What is your grave?

Dear Diary,

I was listening to the song “Glorious Day” by Passion Conferences and when it came to the verse, “You called my name and I ran out of that grave. Out of the darkness into Your glorious day!” When I say that verse spoke to me, I mean it really spoke to me. It led me to ask, “Is there a grave that is holding you down?”

When I say grave, I mean metaphorical grave and not the literal grave. Your grave can be your failures; your past mistakes; anything that is holding you down; anything that seems to be draining the very life out of you; anything that is causing you to question who you are and who God says you are; anything that is preventing you from stepping into your God-given purpose. That is your grave. So, what is your grave? Identify your grave and call it by name. Let that grave know that He called your name and you are stepping out right now. Let that tomb know that you’re not looking back. I know it may seem like you’re boxed in within that four tiny walls but I’m here to tell you that if Jesus left the grave, you can too. He left the grave so you wouldn’t have to be in that grave! Run out of that grave right now like it’s nobody’s business. As a matter of fact, it’s nobody’s business. As the songwriter said, “It was my tomb, till I met You. You called my name, and I ran out of that grave.” Run out of that grave!!

Can I tell you how that grave had me doubting myself; that grave had me all depressed; that grave had me questioning everything about myself; that grave had me living a lukewarm Christian life. It was not until the Lord called out my name, that I ran out of that grave. Out of that darkness into His comforting arms and glorious day!

God is calling out your name right now. He is saying the situation may look tough right now but you are getting out of that grave, you are going to cross that Jordan into His glorious day. Move forward and try your best to not be like Lot’s wife (Genesis 19:26).

This is not the end, it is only the beginning - the old made new 😊.

2021 - Now What?

  Dear Diary, Happy New Year ! Sorry for my tardiness! Wow, what a year 2020 was. I did not expect that at all, did you? That isn’t even a question - sorry for asking. The world was hit with a number of things last year one of them being the pandemic. It was unexpected and many people lost their loved ones - my condolences go out to them. Even though we had to go through all of that, I must say, some good actually came out of it. The pandemic gave birth to a fantastic bible study group I am a part of. We have members from different countries praying, fellowshipping, and studying the word of the Lord every week from Monday to Friday. Such a blessing! For each of us, the pandemic may have given birth to something good or something bad, it all depends on the angle from which you are looking at it. Is 2020 Still the Year of Restoration?

  Dear Diary, It has been a while - it has been way too long if I might say. Any-who,  as you may know, there has been a lot going on since the start of the year from Kobe dying, pandemic, explosion, election and the list can go on and on. With all that’s happening I have to ask, is 2020 still the year of restoration? Year 2019 was a rollercoaster for me. There were days when I was way up and days when I was valley low. Towards the end of the year I was in the valleys of valley. Ugh, I just wanted the year to end🤦🏽‍♀️. So, I decided to take the necessary steps to make my situation better and I also professed that 2020 would be my year - don’t we all do that though? We all end the year with resolutions that we know we may not possibly live up to.  I had to start of the year right; therefore, I went to church on New Year’s Eve like I always do.
